Summary:
  • As high pressure off the CA coast retrogrades to the west, look for temperatures to slowly cool from their peak today back closer to normal by next week. Today's high temperatures will be greatest above normal across northeast CA and northwest NV (+10F to +15F).
  • Flow will turn more northwesterly aloft with several weak disturbances moving across the area. No organized threat of precip through the middle of next week, but there may be an opportunity for showers/t-storms on Saturday afternoon/evening across the southern Sierra.
  • Snowmelt-fed rivers and streams will see elevated flows through the week as a result of warm temperatures, with flows gradually diminishing next week with cooler temperatures.
  • Monitor stage exceedances are forecast to continue at the West Fork Carson at Woodfords for the next several days.
